Wrecking Balm® Review
Rating: 2/5 Stars
Wrecking Balm is a tattoo fading system that has been around for several years. However, this product may be discontinued by its manufacturer. We were unable to locate the manufacturer’s website for this product. At this time, this product is only sold by third party sites and may be found in some local retail stores. If interested in purchasing this product from a third party website online, you may be able to read reviews on Wrecking Balm®. This will help you see what others have to say on the product.
This product was formerly marketed as an in-home risk-free trial that helped fade the look of tattoos. It appears that Wrecking Balm® Tattoo Fade System was intended to diminish the appearance of tattoos by breaking down skin cells and helps with the regeneration of new skin cells that are ink-free. This formula is promoted as a laser-free approach to help reduce the look of tattoos.
Laser can be painful, expensive, and requires individuals to wear goggles during treatments. By using Wrecking Balm® you could avoid doctor’s visits, wearing goggles and you miss out on the pain associated with laser tattoo removal treatments.
Although this formula is gentler then a laser treatment, Wrecking Balm Fade system is sold in a 5 piece kit. This could be a time consuming product since several steps were required in order to fade the appearance of your tattoo. There are other formulas on the market that provide tattoo fading results in as little as weeks by simply applying a gel or even a cream twice daily. No additional steps required or the use of dermabrasion applicators and erosion heads like Wrecking balm requires. Alternative tattoo fading products may require gentle exfoliation before application.
Wrecking Balm® retails for under $50 and is marketed for use on all color tattoos. The Wrecking Balm® formula is recommended for use on tattoos that are a minimum of 6 months old, which means that this product is not recommended for tattoos newer than 6 months of age.
It appears that Wrecking Balm® Tattoo Fade System is designed to address a tattoo covering 1% of your body or less, which is about the size of your palm. This means that this product is not intended for overly large tattoos. There may be alternative options that may be applied to larger areas of the body. Be sure to explore your options before you buy!
Wrecking Balm® Tattoo Removal system is designed to work on all skin types. Be sure to review the ingredients section for this product before you use it. Some products contain ingredients that can be harmful like TCA, Hydroquinone and Cashew Nut Oil. If the concentration of Hydroquinone, TCA, or Cashew Nut Oil is to high, then it can actually burn and scar the skin. Who wants a scar where their tattoo used to be?
Without an ingredients list, we are unsure if this product contains potentially harmful acids or ingredients that could burn or scar the skin. That is why you should always review the ingredients and directions section on a product before you apply it.

Main Concerns on Wrecking Balm®:
Our first main concern when using the Wrecking Balm formula is that it was only intended for tattoos that were older than six months and only cover 1% of the body. This formula is only intended for smaller sized tattoos based on the manufacturer’s suggestions. If you continue to explore your options you may find products more suitable for all tattoo sizes and may be applied to newer tattoos.
Our second concern was the reviews Wrecking Balm had. Many customers have published their testimonials or before and after photos on third party sites so other potential customers can see how well this product worked for them. We noticed that there are mixed opinions of this products effectiveness when we read some of these wrecking balm reviews.
According to some users, Wrecking Balm was used for several weeks and it barely faded the look of their tattoo. They also complained about the function of the dermabrasion applicators and erosion heads being cheap and breaking. Some individuals were so upset with their results, they complained that the product was overpriced for the results obtained.
Although there are several negative reviews, there are some that are positive. Some individuals claimed this product faded the appearance of their tattoo and that they hardly notice that unwanted tattoo after a few weeks. One customer reported that it takes a few applications to notice some fading of the tattoo.
Keep in mind each individual is different. Results will vary for each customer who uses Wrecking Balm Tattoo Fading System. It is important to keep realistic expectations and to apply this product as directed to achieve the best results, if results do occur.
Our last concern was the fact that we were unable to locate the manufacturer’s website. Wrecking Balm was formerly sold by its manufacturer directly from its website. Now we can only locate this product on third party sites and may be found in some local retail stores. We recommend that you elect a tattoo fading product that is sold directly from its manufacturer before you buy it from third party sites or undergo tattoo removal treatments like laser.
